I truly empathise with anyone who has said "WOW........ but I couldn't make that".
Don't be put off any longer.

Avid sewers and those with a little experience, can work with "Pattern Empathy" patterns.
With these patterns you CAN make those items with the "WOW" factor!

Pattern Empathy

                                My Rules

I want it cheap. Use any materials to hand, raid your stash, old garments, a tablecloth?

I want it easy. Simple instructions in bite size chunks. No technical jargon.
Make abandoned projects in cupboards a thing of the past.

I want it now. Get it made! In your own time naturally. But tomorrow, you could be on with
another project.

Hello, I'm Pat Lintern and I have been sewing since receiving a hand sewing machine for my first wedding anniversary in 1978.
(Cotton, well not quite).

Clothing was paramount in the early years and it wasn't long before "D.I.Y" with things such as furnishings was necessary with two
young children on a tight budget.

This was where the frugal use of materials began and now they have become "My Rules".

Having traded in my hand machine for an electric (big regret) and worn that out and another one since,
I am now on my fourth sewing machine!

Though patchwork was in the early years of my sewing, it was later that it became an obsession. I was always inquisitive about how things were done and the innovative processes I employ began. Now things get made when the mood takes me and time permits.

I have been a member of a local group of patch workers for many years.
Pattern Empathy
came about because I made the Risque Peg Bag and showed it to the members.

Originally the idea was to make and sell a few at our quilt show in May 2007. The idea was deemed to be so brilliant
it was suggested I copyright it and make a profit from my idea, by making dozens to sell at various craft shows around the area.

This was an impossible task as I have a job and I am also a Kleeneze agent, time is never on my side!
However, several in the group asked to make my peg bag, the request was "can you do a workshop and show us?"
and the idea of selling the pattern was born. It soon got bigger, becoming "The Risque Collection" with the
tweaking of the peg bag, hence producing the shopper bag, apron and the shoulder bag.

I have many more ideas for patterns and the range will be across the board.
Small items as I have now begun with, to full size quilts.
It is my hope to inspire you and enable sewers of all abilities to enjoy making things.

I will not abandon you!
If you get stuck, email me and I will endeavour to help you with any queries on your sewing hiccups with my patterns.

Many thanks for taking time to read this, may you have much enjoyment from your sewing.

Best wishes, Pat
